About Me
Iris Kayan is a mum of 2 living in Europe with her Czech husband and two bilingual kids. She’s been writing since she was young, and knew at the age of 9 that she wanted to be published. This dream has come true at last.
After seeing the success of her fellow indie authors, Iris took the plunge and hasn’t looked back since. Her novels include:
- When the Mask Slips – an urban fantasy sci-fi thriller with an enemies to lovers subplot – Iris’s first solo work and the start of a beloved series with Detective Lynx Wu.
- Dance in These Hollow Walls – a dystopian romance – under her pen name Lily I. Aspara, in collaboration with American author Sonya Lano, available now on Amazon and other providers. (This book’s been one happy accident after another. You can check out the story on Sonya’s blog.)
Iris has also been published in various other capacities, in the indie, write-for-hire, and traditional space, including:
- Inspirational novella Meg the Mediocre on rediscovering your passion by finding your inner child (available on Amazon), in collaboration with Polish graphic designer Joanna Varro,
- Inspirational parenting poetry published (and sold) on Instagram, in collaboration with Czech artist Petra Anyakem,
- A horror collaborative poem on a literary site, in collaboration with American poet Allister Nelson,
- Ghostwritten projects including a book project with National Geographic in partnership with Upworthy,
- A personal creative essay on emigration as part of a collection on underrepresented voices published by Black Eagle Books.
