“Help!” Fox screamed.
Ragul pressed his arm against Fox’s throat, lifting him onto his toes. Fox gagged. “I’ll cut out your tongue,” Ragul hissed as he dragged him inside the courtyard.
Lynx levelled his weapon. “You’re not taking him anywhere. Surrender, Ragul.”
Ragul flared his nostrils, eyes darting left and right. The night was becoming painted with the siren lights, lovely reds and blues catching the mad glint in his eye. He licked his lips.
The hairs on the back of Lynx’s neck rose as he shivered. Something slithered in the air, magic thickening like a scurrying mass as he watched Ragul’s tattoo slide over his skin. Lynx was about to shoot when Ragul shoved Fox into the line of fire.
“You’re not getting me twice,” Ragul said, using Fox as his shield.
The magical aura around Ragul was gathering, like steam undulating upwards, taking the ink with it. A creature emerged from the space above him, Ragul’s tattoo no longer upon his skin. Eyes red as molten fire, slitted with pits for pupils. It snapped its jaws, lips black as ebony curling into a wolf’s grin.
Lynx paled in horror. The rest of the body whipped out, horns, whiskers, and twisted sinew with copper scales. It ascended in a lashing gale.
A wingless dragon coiled in the air, glaring down its snout.
This piece of music was especially commissioned for the scene afterwards---because it's the aftermath that decides everything.

Future London, 2531. Who gets to decide what is justice? There’s a killer on the loose with the Midas touch, hellbent on turning every cop into gold. Fox Wu can see the future—and he knows his brother, Detective Lynx, is the next victim. Only problem? Lynx doesn’t believe him. Fox's visions are fickle at best, and besides, what's Lynx supposed to do? Putting himself in danger sleuthing Midas is just part of the job.
Chasing the clues, Lynx finds out Midas wants revenge, and there's a key witness who's the answer to it all. But Fox has another vision, where the witness is covered in blood. Fox would do anything to prove his worth and protect the witness—absolutely out of the question, according to Lynx.
Tensions between the brothers are boiling over. Lynx might be the last good cop in London but Fox is willing to bet he could do Lynx’s job. It’s detective vs amateur sleuth. While the brothers are divided, the killer is closing in, and Fox is right about one thing: Lynx is the next golden target.
Where it all begins. A detective, a thief, and a murder that tangles them together in a deadly game of cat and mouse.
